in-spite of errors i am able to follow the steps with error after each step.

Finally when I open the created theme, no changes are made.

I have no idea whether error is because of my operating system or because of program error.
BTW i am on windows xp sp3
That's weird..

Because I tested it on the little Dell with XP SP3 of my father
yesterday night at 3am xD, and it went perfectly well..

I've added the dll you miss, version 2 online, let me know !

EDIT : Working on a new version 3 compatible with SONY GB 2.3.4..
That's it, done ! Should work on both ICS and GB 2.3.4 !
(Does work on my ICS 4.0.4, please confirm GB).

I can only change one theme of the defaultthemes.apk...???
not all 7 of them...
It would be awsome if I could change all seven themes....

Then it already is awesome xD !

At the end, you can choose to customize an other color or exit the software.

Bye !

(News, sorry for double posting..)

A whole new version is online, based on my current development of HomeCustomizer which might be released soon.

Much for efficient, more secure and with an automatic creation of flashable zip in addition to the AndroidFilesInstaller files.

Bye !

Guys, do I need a rooted device in order to use this tool? Does it work on Xperia Arc also?

Hi !

My DefaultThemesCustomizer application doesn't require root since the new version 7.

Indeed, since I now also build a flashable zip to install the files,
in addition to my original AndroidFilesInstaller files,
you now get a Flashable zip to Install the apk and an other one to restore
the original files you just modded !

But if like me you prefer to use my AndroidFilesInstaller, then yes, you need root.

The application should work with every ICS phone from the Xperia 2011 serie,
but so far, I can only assure the Arc S and the Arc are working fine with it,
Ray, Neo/Neo V and others are still to be confirmed.

Bye !

Thank you very much for the extensive answer!
Please excuse me for the dummy question but how do I install these FlashableZip files?
I tried renaming it from .zip to .apk but it didn't work... It gave me: "Error reading package".

No problem.

Nonono don't rename the zip, they are build as they have to be ^^

Flashable zip are to be installed from the CWM Recovery.

And now that I think of it... You should need root to install CWM on the ROM...

Or if you did unlock your bootloader, which would seam unprobable here,
you could use the normal CWM without root...

Anyways, root is so much better than normal.. The choice is yours

EDIT : You should try installing the apks without AndroidFilesInstaller, just by installing them normally.
Since they are system apps, I'm not sure you'll be able to install them that way, but who knows?

Hmmm, what do you mean by "installing the apks without AndroidFilesInstaller, just by installing them normally"? I have a .zip file only. Should I try to copy its contents somewhere in the system folders?

If you look closer to the modded files, you'll see that you get :

- FlashableZip[ThemesCustomized] > Flashable zip to install new Themes
- FlashableZip[ThemesOriginal] > Flashable zip with original Themes
- system~app[DefaultThemes] > Files to install with my AndroidFilesInstaller.sh

This last one contains the very apk that you just modded,
so try to install them manually..

If it doesn't work, think about rooting.. It's much better afterward ^^.
