Default [ROM][ICS]Official AOKP[DISCUSSION/SUPPORT/INFO]

First of all:
I am NOT the dev of this ROM!
Full credit goes to the guys over at www.aokp.co for providing it and Team GalaxianSoup for first getting it to work on our tabs and maintaining the device tree!

Recently our forum got a little flooded and confusing.
This thread aims to inform you about the official AOKP ROM and offer a place to discuss it and maybe gain some support from other users.

[Q]What is the latest version of AOKP that works on our tabs?
[A]The AOKP buildbot now churns out p5 & p5wifi version so the latest working version is the latest AOKP version

[Q]Why was there a need for AOKP GalaxianSoup (and other ROM versions)?
[A]There was a time a few builds back that the builbot didn't provide ROMs for our tab. Now it does so there is no need to build a version from AOKP source.

[Q]Where did the other AOKP threads go?
[A]They were (by request) deleted by a moderator. This is a dev section and the mods posted were basically just soft mods meaning it was the official release from the AOKP site with just a few apps added. (something that everyone can just do by himself either via market or .apk) Also a user created a new thread for every new version the buildbot churned out making it hard to offer support in one central thread.

[Q]Where can I get the latest ROM?
[A]I will try and keep this post as up to date as I can but basically you can just follow www.aokp.co for all the news.

[Q]What works, what doesn't work?
[A]Basically just about everything works except the camera and the rotation blackout bug. These will only be fixed once Samsung finally release ICS for our tab so don't hold your breath!

[Q]Where can I contact the devs, get support, report bugs?
[A]Team AOKP uses rootzwiki forum. Here are the links:
AOKP Team Forum
8.9 Subforum
Bug Tracker

Before flashing:
I URGE YOU TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP OR AT LEAST HAVE AN OLD FUNCTIONING ONE ON YOUR TAB TO REVERT BACK TO!
MAKE BACKUPS OF YOU APPS! USE TITANIUM OR STH SIMILAR!
ITS WORTH THE LITTLE EXTRA TIME AND AVOIDS MAJOR HEADACHES!

Latest Builds (these are bascially nightlies and can have a few bugs):
MILESTONE6 IS OUT! ALL SEEMS STABLE!
MILESTONE6 WIFI
MILESTONE6 3G

Older Builds:
AOKP P5WIFI b40
AOKP P5 b40
AOKP P5WIFI b39
AOKP P5 b39
AOKP P5WIFI b38
AOKP P5 b38

than flash the gapps (gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip)
no gapps found after reboot, so i try to flash the gapps (gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip)
still can't found any gapps, any idea or which version gapps suggest to flash?

The gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip works for me with p38 (full wipe before and after install rom and gapps).

I have the following problem with all browsers with this rom:
When I'm surfing the web and have a site open, then after some time browsing on that site, no link is opening anymore. All sites in every tab shows this behavior..

I have this with the default browser, chrome and dolphin. All browsers have this issue...

I had this also in the milestone build and still in this build. When I flash new roms I allways clear everything.

Does someone has a clue why this is happening? Are other users have the same issue?

i think this has sth to do with the hardware acceleration.
chrome often freezes up for me too and i have to force quit it and then restart it to get it working again.
but this is sth that plagues a lot of unnoficial ics roms. so far there is no fix im aware of :S
once again its all down to samsung releasing ics!
