I really doubt this Touchwhiz-flavored update will change anyone's mind.
My GF just got the update and has no problems, but can barely tell the difference between the two versions.

Just go in the Dev Forum and select TDJ's Darkside ICS T-Mobile ROM.

It's better than whatever OTA you're expecting from T-Mobile.

You guys have to wipe all data and put apps back without data...upgrading has it's flaws...since i wiped everything works...some settings are different from gb to ics and the op has trouble figuring it out...

For all of those who miss that Scrollable Wallpaper feature, I finally found out how to fix it with an easy install... just install both Gallery 2 and Gallery 4. Once installed, hold on the screen, select the option to change wallpapers, and choose the newly installed gallery... when it asks how you want to crop it, choose the ICS version and it should work. Your Welcome!!

Hmm... you can install the apps regularly as you install any other app and it should work. If that doesn't do it, reset all defaults for the original gallery so that you can select the ICS gallery to crop. If all
goes well, you should make it to this screen.
