[ROM] Original DFT Freedom Rom Recooked - US/UK Lang only

This is my first ever recooked ROM based on the Original DFT Freedom ROM V1 Omega 24 Langs Pearl Edition.
Thanks to DFT Chef Team and mwang for permission to upload.


Modified ROM Version:

【SYS Language】 USA only (Suitable for UK English Region too!) - 23 languages removed.

【SYS Version】 7.10.8773.98 (Tango)


Changes made to this ROM:

1. Removed all HTC OEM apps except for Connection Set Up. I removed them all because they kept on self installing after reboot despite uninstalling them. All removed HTC apps can be downloaded from Marketplace and you can download only those you wish to install. HTC's Camera Modes, Attentive Phone and Sound Enhancer features are still included in this modified ROM.

2. Removed custom xaps such as BT File transfer and Registry Editor as these can be downloaded from Bazaar app.

3. Removed all languages except US language (0409) which can be used with US/UK Keyboard and Region settings. Upon boot, default System Locale, Region Format and Browser Language is set to US. Change to UK in Settings/Region+Locale and Settings/Keyboard and then reboot.

4. Original 24 Lang ROM has 6.01GB useable storage. This modified ROM has 6.20GB useable storage. You gain 200mb of storage space.

5. Removed T-Mobile US Carrier info from 'About' Screen.

6. Changed 4G notification icon for HSDPA speed to an H icon as no 4G in UK yet.

7. Tweaked some tap and hold characters in keyboard.

8. Removed some wallpapers. Nice stock Stainless Steel Lock Screen wallpaper is set as default.

Everything else is the same as original Rom. Still fully Unlocked with XAP IE download support etc.



You must have DFT's HSPL installed on your device
Enter SPL mode and run RUU exe file.
Before doing anything, make sure you have more than 50% battery!
Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7.

Once phone boots, run HTC Connection Set Up manually before doing anything else.

Tested and using as my daily Rom. Very happy with it.

As stated in OP, this is just for users who want to use English language and keyboard. However I just checked and Chinese keyboard does work. :)

Oh...great! Actually I just returned to the official ROM because I hate the apps reinstall after restart! I will download your ROM and try it!

ur rom has a big prob..!!!
the hardware keys dont work..!!!
they vibrate but perform no action..!!! tried to reinstall but it remained the same..

I don't have this problem at all. The rom uploaded is the same rom i am using now. I would not upload a rom with such a big problem. I tested and flashed many times with each tweak.

Try this.. after a hard reset and boot, before you do anything else or navigate to any settings, run the HTC Connection set up immediately.
