Guide now works with devices updated to Android 4.0.4. Will someone please test this?
Devices:
Helly Beaned Fascinate
CyanogenMod-Equipped Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Having trouble with the Fascinate? Check out Droidstyle's awesome guide here.

I have downloaded the right file for restoring my P3100 (only for emergency like assistance)
Is this stock ROM compatible with my Italian tablet or it is US version?
Another question: when I need to reset counter? After installing the stock ROM right?
Can I use Triangle Away?
And after this can I unroot the tablet or the root is "invisible" for samsung assistance?
Thanks for who want to help me
Only question, but after I am more quiet

P.s.: Root_Remover.zip mirror is down

As far as file is for 3100 and your device is 3100 the file will work
The American version is 3113 wifi only
Triangle away need root to work so use it before flashing stock rom or you will have to root again for it to work
To unroot if unroot script not work so just flash stock firmware

So if i put stock firmware (PDA and PIT) i automatically lost the root?
But how I reset the counter to 0?

If I use before install stock ROM odin display to me counter: 1 because I put original firmware

If I want to use after install stock ROM I can' use triangle away..

How I reset to 0 if I can't?

Hello, my first post here, but I've been reading the forum for two weeks now.

I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth my while rooting my tab 2 10.1 P5110 (Wifi only, Australian version). At the moment, I'm only using it for web browsing, email and the like, just getting used to the Android system, coming from iOS for the last few years.

One thing I've noticed is that the screen is not very responsive, for instance when I was playing angry birds with my niece the other night, the screen seemed to 'jump' a bit when we were moving our fingers on the screen, making it hard to position the bird exactly where we wanted (I know, lame, but that's the best example I've got at the moment). It's also noticeable, though slightly less annoying, when on the unlock screen. Would a root and removing the bloatware fix this at all?

Have a great one!

You reset the counter in the rooted firmware you are in now using triangle away so counter is zero then flash stock firmware and stock firmwares are not rooted so it will erase rooted firmware you have and take its place so your device not rooted if you installed triangle away it will say that it needs root access to do its job if no root access so no counter reset to zero so you will have to root again to reset counter
So you reset counter before flashing stock as in that situation the firmware you have has a root so traingle away will work and then flash stock it will not raise counter as counter not raised with stock flashing it is raised with custom flashing only afterwards counter will be still zero and in stock firmware so no one will know you flashed it before zero state and you can claim warranty they could not refuse it

Removing bloatware can free more cpu cycles so these free ones are dedicated to other jobs as ui or games so more responsive tab
Better use custom firmware as cm10 in www.teamhacksung.org for your tab it is debloated already and tweaked for better performance so i thing lag will decrease alot i use cm10 now
To install a custom firmware as cm10 you need root and cwm recovery

So, in conclusion if I use triangle away before flash stock ROM I can't see the counter to 1? (For 1 I'm telling about install stock ROM with Odin)

Great notice if I understand right!

Yes if you used triangle away now you will see zero i never used odin method to check counter i used download mode to check it volume down+power in beginning of reboot and see counter before triangle away use and after it
Notice check counter number and status official or custom in download mode then compare with values which appear when you open triangle away app if they are the same so safe not the same do not use it unsafe
The custom state will convert to official if you flashed stock not before

Don't forget about overclocking and changing your CPU governor - - that alone gave me a large performance boost. Don't worry about bricking your tablet, in 3 months of modding, I've not had one brick.

I have a GT-P3113 tab I just got last weekend and updated to 4.0.4. So far the only time I get CWM to come up is when it reboots the first time after ODIN, after that it comes up with the default recovery again but I have installed the root/superuser during that one time I got CWM to come up. I am not sure about flashing roms until I am sure CW is woking correctly. The note in the instructions that say "your tab says "Stock Recovery <3e>" when you reboot into recovery, you have to restore to stock." I thought was relating to needing to go stock from 4.0.4.

Was going to follow E. to put back to stock but I did not see an entry for GT-P3113
