I think when Samsung is aware of the issue, they are referring to the issue that specific phone alone had. Seriously, the international version has been out for a month and this happened once? It's not an issue. Calm down

Would not the cold operating system of Ice Cream Sandwich help with the overheating aspect of the phone.

Yeah, this was a bigger problem with donut and gingerbread, as a lot of those were warmer operating systems and came with a thick glaze on the kernel. Dunno why they heated it up after froyo was so cool.
