I am having a problem with my wifi also. I've tried the few fixes in this thread but none have helped. It will not stay connected n the signal is bad everywhere I go. Hopefully there is a fix soon

Default Return

I took my S3 to the Sprint store because of the wifi disconnects. I'm going to return it for a refund and go back to my S2 which not only does not have this problem, but also has WiMAX which is fast when I happen to be in a WiMAX area. The S3 is limited to 3G. The S3 makes no sense, IMO, until LTE is rolled out, if that ever happens.

I'm also having intermittent WiFi disconnection issues. I even sometimes have to re-input the wifi password. I hope we get a fix ASAP!

I didn't realize I was having disconnects. I had posted earlier about using static addresses. I set up a Tasker task to say when connecting or disconnecting from WiFi, and I find that it is happening to me also, albeit not very often.

Watch the video I made (link in OP) , it is on a table, so hands are not responsible for the issue.

I am back to thinking that it is simply bad coding or perhaps incompatible chip set, like the old Antheros vs Broadcom issues from years ago. That would explain why some people don't report a problem.

I was so jealous of yours working. Again I noticed because of Unlock with Wifi
http://benhirashima.com/unlockwithwifi/ which is a great app that I have been using for the last couple of years. I had to change a timeout setting to keep the phone unlocked longer than normal, when it detects that I'm not connected.

Cool. I'm doing the same thing using Tasker and a Security plugin. That in fact is what prodded me to set up the checks for disconnects, because my lock would come back, even though at the time it was connected to the WIFI.

I'm tweaking with timeouts too. If it is too finicky, I'll download the app you linked.

Default Weak wifi

My Droid Incredible's wifi signal, according to wifi analyzer, is -60. Sitting right next to it my S3's wifi signal is -92. With the DInc I get wifi all over my tiny house. With the S3 I lose signal when in other room. Hope there is a fix soon or this is going back.
