You might also try redownloading the package again.

Which version of windows?

MD

EDIT: You may have to use fastboot commands from a CMD window.
The administrators rights are given I right clicked and executed as Administrator.

I'm running on Seven 64 b, and tried it on a netbook running Seven 32b, same problem.

Tried to download again but same problem.

For the fastboot commands I tried :
Quote:
fastboot flash recovery rooting.img
But here goes again the cannot load rooting.img

Any ideas ?

[EDIT] : I tried Method 2 and I have ... wait for it ... "cannot load 'boot-patched.img'

Code:
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/APP /system
This did the trick and I could delete some unwanted apps.
Thanks.

After that, turn off the tablet.
Press and hold down the 'Volume -'. Power on the tablet. After starting the "rooting" recovery - releasing button 'Volume -'.
For some time the screen goes blank and restarted the system.
After rebooting the system will restore the original recovery, but you will have access to the Root

Thanks for your answer.
I did what you said.

I had a picture of bugdroid lying down with the stomach open and a red triangle with ! coming out of it.
then I restarted but no root.

I tried again for the archive but still "cannot load rooting.img"

I think the problem is on my computer, but I am unable to tell where.

The tablet works fine, it boots in fastboot mode and says : Bootloader xxxxxxxxx : Starting USB download protocol.

It's just that my pc can't send the proper files to it.

Try to reinstall the tablet driver on your computer. And unlock the bootloader.

Done reinstalling the driver.

And the commands for unlocking the bootloader are working, it says on my tablet
Quote:
Fastboot : Device is already unlocked ! Abort...
I tried the commands both in the platform-tools folder and in the folder of the extracted archive for root.

Both worked.

But then tried again to root and failed. Cannot load...

[EDIT] : I made some progress :

I tried using a virtual machine running windows xp 32 b and the "cannot load" problem is now solved.

However when I execute the runit.bat , I have this :
Quote:
downloading 'boot.img' ...
OKAY
booting...
OKAY
finished. total time:
-
Reboot in system
-
Wait for connect device...
And then my tablet does not reboot.

If I reboot it manually, I then have :

Quote:
-Wait for connect device...
remote object '/system/xbin/su' does not exist
The file "su" isn't created!
-
Not getting root!
-
Error!
-
Press any key.
[EDIT 2]: I tried the second method with my virtual XP Pro and it worked.

Thank you everybody

The thread containing CWM Recovery referred to in method 3 seems to have been deleted?

Is that because it doesn't work? Does anyone have a working recovery?

I'd like to know too, especially since I flashed the CWM in that thread.

How moderator informed me were many complaints about the wrong job 'CWM recovery'. I was absent for 3 days. So I do not know the details yet.
I sent message to moderator with a request to provide me with text messages from removed thread.
