Default [Sprint] Swype Beta keyboard for SGS3 is Sweet!

Well, I wanted to share this for anyone that , like me, didn't think Samsung did that great a job with the keyboard on the GS3. I just downloaded the Swype Beta for our phone and played with it for a while..It's really NICE. Much better imho than that frustrating thing they used in our phones! I don't know what happened, but after using the Samsung KB for a while I started getting really frustrated. Not sure what the heck happened to my old Swype KB? Hell, that's one of the biggest reasons I was sold on my OG Epic4G! It was the closest thing to a perfect KB that I had ever found. Now I'm not saying this is perfect, but I think it's a LOT better and it's free!

Anyways, for those that may not know how, just go to the Swype site, log in or register, and they'll email you a link that you'll open with your phone. Then just follow the instructions from there. Not sure if you have to be rooted or not (I AM). It installed without even a question on my phone. Then go into you Settings>Language and Input, check the Swype keyboard if not already checked and (this is IMPORTANT) in the "Default " space make sure you select - Swype keyboard.

Try SwiftKey 3 and you will never look back. Especially if you are a fast typer and write in more than one language. The predictions and dictionaries rock.

I've been trying to download and install swype beta for a while now but it keeps saying there's a connection error or something of that sort. I've been making do with SwiftKey 3 but I really want swype.

Is it similar to the way Swype works, I'll try it, thanks?

Swiftkey is a hunt and peck keyboard with strong prediction, so no, not at all like Swype.

Count me in the group that likes swype more. One of the first things I installed on the phone.

That's just it, swiftkey requires pecking keys the old way. Since I first realized that not lifting your finger during a word and not having to hit space after it, I can't use a regular keyboard in any fashion of the same speed times. I do realize that Swiftkey has a great lead on the next word, but I prefer not having to hope that it knows what I'm going to say and lift my finger up to select it's guessed word at top when it gets it right. It is just a distraction that adds to the time it takes to type out what I want to say.

Sticking with Swype myself for the foreseeable future.

I still prefer swiftkey, the prediction feature make typing so fast and easy. I rarely have to type a whole word.

Yeah. I love Swype. The keyboard that comes on this thing sucks. They tried to add the Swype-ing feature but failed big time.
