Default [Q] "N" Wifi configuration?

I have another thread with a complaint gone to Samsung Level 3 regarding the wifi connect/disconnect. But I've noticed that this is only apparently on my "N" configured bands. My ordinary "G" band doesn't seem to have this issue.

SO, I would be interested to hear how other people have setup "N" only bands that don't have problems. On 2.4 or 5Ghz.

I have two wifi routers, one is a Netgear N300 WNR3500L. This is a FCC supplied router and is part of the SamKnows testing of ISPs in the US. This router creates a G network, with WPA2-AES security, fixed channel.

My second unit is a Linksys WRT610 v2 dual band with DD-WRT (DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) mega (SVN revision 14896)).

I had both of the "N" set to 40mhz wide, and the channels were fixed (based on surveys at the time). Both are again, just WPA2-AES encryption.

I would be interested to know what/how people have thier 'no problem' "N" settings.

(I've even changed to 5Ghz auto width and auto channel (since it's the only 5Ghz in the area), and I still get drops in the connection.)

And it isn't that when it connects it isn't fast, see below: I only have an officially 50/8 connection.

Haven't seen your other post so not sure what problems your having. But I have a WNDR3700 and mine connects to it great. Almost instantly in fact.

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 running DD-WRT that I intend to only use with 802.11N / WPA2-AES. I'll repost here tomorrow if I run into any problems (and if I don't, that probably means everything's OK).

I hope your issue is isolated, as working WiFi is of utmost importance to me, since I hate paying for the carriers' over-priced dataplans (and am not a lucky SOB with grandfathered unlimited).

Nothing I have has 5ghz so I've got that turned off.
2.4 has :
-WPA2-PSK encryption.
-Locked channel
-Long preamble
-Allow up to 300mbs
-Not broadcasting

Anything I'm missing your interested in?
