All I can say is I'm more optimistic about getting it on this phone than the people that get the SGIII should be. Sounds like Project Butter is nothing to sneeze at either.

I put money that we'll get Vanilla Jellybean months before we get an official OTA... my guess around Thanksgiving

I know people keep knocking Samsung for updates, but "some" of the GSII's have ICS and the Evo 3d doesn't. It could be a Sprint thing, but Samsung has pushed out some updates recently.

As far as unofficial updates there is no doubt we will have a partially working one before the official. But, we don't have a fully working CM9 so what makes people think we will get so easily?

The E4GLTE Devs are hard at work and good at what they do, but reasonable expectations would be nice.

The jump for the 3D from GB to ICS is a huge difference from ICS to JB. This is just a .1 update much like the jump from eclair to froyo. I doubt we'll get it as fast as we did Froyo, but wouldn't be surprised to see it as early as September. Remember JB isn't out until mid-July, so the clock doesn't start counting until then.

The reason for Samsung and Sprint releasing the ICS updates lately is to move stocj before SIII hits store shelves. Now the EVO LTE won't have another device pushing it off to the side due to EVO LTE and SIII being on par when it cones to neutral standpoint to be honest so we should see it sooner than later because Sprint will want to move the EVO LTE and now wait forever to put it onto another device whenever that comes since it is not planned to have another device for quite a long time... Especially since the next decent phones are confirmed for ICS like the Photon Q. Just my opinion and call me out on any of this if you disagree but be polite. I'm guessing
around Halloween to Thanksgiving to be honest.
