To be fair, I have yet seen a ROM without a single complaint even with a ROM that is declare as "official release". I would go for workable solution, not perfect solution. As I said earlier, voice, data, sound all work out of the box after I flash the it, and I didn't even do a wipe when I switch from MIUI base ICS to BCM . The only main problem is the funky camera, but I don't use it to take photos or videos so is not a big issue to me.
Perhaps the differences of experience between me and others are, I did my due to read through the guides, the sticky threads and spent time to understand the ROM or Android in general. I learnt how to view logcat and how to find problem apps. I would uninstall problem apps or freeze/disable it using Titanium. I applied the same knowledge for both of my N1 and Galaxy Note, and in my experience, both are on par in terms of stability.
