You do know that the people on this forum make a small fraction of the total units that have been sold right? The sample is further skewed by the fact that many people who come here are looking for answers for problems. So new members to the forum asking about the device have a higher than normal level of issues with the devices than would represent to real world.

Also, trying to determine which batches arrived at which locations is practically unknowable since Google is not going to give that info out. You would have to know when the units were built, not when they were shipped as units could be from any number of batches of builds and are dispersed in a very uneven distribution pattern due to distance of warehouses, how long they were stocked and then distributed. Units sent to stores for example are going to be from larger batches etc...

Without having some way of knowing when units were built and in which batches and then getting people to report the perceived status of their unit and the batch group they belonged to, you would be completely guessing.

Note that I said "perceived"... what one user sees as a defect another may not further degrading your chances of locating the info you are looking for.

If you are in the camp that there are significant issues with the current builds, you should not bother buying one and wait a couple months for them to work out.

When I ordered they were on the 3-4 week out notice. So 5 days isn't to bad. Been a hold on the card since I ordered.

recieved my 8 last week, used it but only had about 2gb left of data left. So i had to return it and get a 16gb, but there are none available so now the waiting game begins again for me. This sucks...

Got mine yesterday. So far, I'm loving it
