I honestly think that this is because manufacturers trying to force customers to change their devices on regular basis (about every 2 years), instead of just replacing battery and using hardware that still satisfies all the needs (even without any upgrades). Their excuse is that they want device to be more solid or slimmer, but in my opinion this is only secondary cause. I'd rather have a thicker device with an option of removable battery or extended battery upgrade.

Yeah I do hate the fact tabs have fixed batteries. The thin thing is just that an excuse, the galaxy s3 is one of the slimmest phones on the market and still manages a removable battery

This might feel like salt on a wound to some, maybe.

Cool really. I like my flyer but it's just business in the end. Poor marketing and high price tags pretty much killed the flyer, view and the Jetstream. I'd be willing to give them another shot honestly. The one series is popular, hopefully they can find a way to make the new tablet cost effective and have the coolness of the one series

I'd like too think the they learned their lesson. All and all 2011 was just a bad year for HTC. The year they stopped innovating and started just releasing phones by the masses. I still wonder what they were thinking with the HTC Status... Lol who needs a status update button for Facebook?

So hmmm.... Maybe a new tablet with a unibody polycarbonate white shell, 2 sets of the new hardware buttons laid out like our Flyer, an all new sense 2.0 for tablets and pen support? I just wonder how well they can make a quality tablet for less money. Samsung made a nice tablet with the gtab2 but Samsung is one of the largest companies in Korea, and Google is well Google, and there's already speculation that the Nexus is being sold at a loss and subsidized by the play store. Both Google’s and Samsung have deeper pockets than htc. I plan be following the new tab closely. I dunno if I'll give up my flyer for a Nexus but I might be willing to give it up for a flyer 2!

Well sounds like it's a 10 inch tablet which is a deal breaker imo. Bummer

My Nexus 7 arrived today! It's amazing. Really - No words to describe how nice it is to use!

Quick thank you to the developers who made my Flyer better ;)

Had my Nexus 7 a couple days now, and prefer it to Flyer for a few reasons: higher res, better screen, better os, nicer to hold (flyer aluminum too slippery), bit smaller and lighter, tegra 3 for games (same as my one x which is handy)

If you don't need pen, 3g or sdcard then I recommend to go for it.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still debating it myself. I just hate to leave the community here, but at the same time I'm picky about lag and I was hoping for a pc like Web browsing experience with the flyer and didn't get that, though it's pretty close with senseless. Part of me says keep the flyer and see how development goes, another part of me days "Ah come on Cory you've wanted a nexus device since the original nexus one treat yourself!"
