Default Problem Rooting MZ609

Quote:

Now onto rooting:
  1. Connect USB to Xyboard and the Windows PC. Install the Motorola USB Drivers 5.7 or higher (found by an easy google search if you do not have these already installed).
  2. On the notification menu set the USB Mode to MTP mode or Camera mode (basically anything besides USB Mass Storage)
  3. Under Settings > Developer Options > Hit the "Enable USB Debugging" selection.
  4. Run this after extracted the zip file: filename

I'm having problem rooting my MZ609. I get "Permission Denied" when doing the first steps. I do have the latest drivers and the PC sees the device as a portable device. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Yep.

Do I just run the DroidRazrRoot404.bat file? It seems like I should do something with the fastboot exe. But I don't see that referred to in the batch file.

This line in the instructions:
On the notification menu set the USB Mode to MTP mode or Camera mode (basically anything besides USB Mass Storage) - I don't get any options for what mode to put USB in - only Debug on or off. I have it on. I assume I'm in MTP mode because the device shows up in window as a portable device. I'm running Android 3.2.2 build 1.60M_279_MZ609 (what it came with).

Does that help shed any light on what might be the problem?

Thanks

Are you rooting on hc? That's why its not working, this root method is for AFTER you install the leaked ics

There are no options under storage. I originally did look through all of the settings for this. Do other MZ609 systems have this option somewhere?

I get this log:
[*][*] Motorola Razr ICS Root Exploit (Windows version)[*] by Dan Rosenberg (@djrbliss)[*][*] Before continuing, ensure USB debugging is enabled, that you[*] have the latest Motorola drivers installed, and that your phone[*] is connected via USB.[*][*] Press enter to root your phone...
Press any key to continue . . .[*][*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *[*] Device found.[*] Rebooting device...[*] Waiting for device to reboot...
rm failed for /data/local.prop, Permission denied
cannot create /data/local.prop: permission denied[*] Rebooting device again...[*] Waiting for device to reboot...
I've rooted and flash custom ROMs on the 3 other android devices I own without issues, so I do have some experience with this. I must just be missing something here...

Thanks for your patience

are you still on 3.2.2? because you said that you are running it, if that the case then you need to install the ICS leak ota first, then root it
the setting in the storage are on the top right

Thanks
