Default Milestone capacitive touch buttons borked?

Hi everyone,

I have here an old OG Milestone that's been working perfectly and happily running CM7. However, one day I thought to pass it on to my brother, so I ran a factory wipe on it from the menu (I know, I know, noob mistake) and then the touch spazzed out. Eventually I got to bring it back to life by re-rooting and re-flashing CM7, and now it's working perfectly fine. BUT! Once it booted up, I discovered that the back capacitive touch button no longer works! All of the others (home, menu, search) are perfectly fine, and I no longer have any touch issues on the screen itself, it's behaving perfectly.

My question being, do you think a problem that occurred while I was flashing it could have been the cause of the back button no longer working? Is this possible? Or is there a way I can test if the digitizer is the culprit and I have no choice but to get it fixed?

Did you flash the latest GApps package?

I recall that some people had touch-screens issues because of this - no idea why.
