Exclamation [Petition] Root Motorola Defy Mini

Motorola recently released a brand new Android Starter Phone (Released 2012, February), the Motorola Defy Mini (XT320). Motorola fixed most of the loop holes that were used for rooting previous Android Motorola Phones. It also has Bootloader 7, we ask the best developers out there to try anything they can to root this great phone.

Why is this phone so great, well here are the specifications of it:

It is Dust, water and scratch resistant, it has Touch-sensitive controls. TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256K colors, 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches, Multitouch, Corning Gorilla Glass, microSD up to 32GB, 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, 150 MB Internal Memory, the Internal Memory is a very critical topic, it very low and without rooting this device is almost useless because you can't have more then 10 apps on your phone. 3.15 MP Camera, Front Camera, 2048x1536 pixels, LED flash, Android OS v2.3.6, CPU 600 MHz, Accelerometer, proximity, compass, HTML, Adobe Flash, A-GPS.

All these specifications above make it a one of the best and cheapest Android Starter Phones, but as an Android Starter we wish to learn more and experiment with our phones but without full access to our phone that is not possible.

So please help us and sign this petition so that we get the attention of a developer or someone and that someone will hopefully try too help us root our device.

All Defy Mini owners should sign this petition!

Great News, we have reached 10 signatures, no, 11, well our goal is to reach at least 100 or even more. Tell anyone you know about this petition to come by and sign it, there still is hope to root the Defy Mini, here is some proof, Sagett from El Salvador managed to root his Defy Mini in a very creative way. He used SuperOneClick to root the Defy (NOT DEFY MINI) and when the software waited at the last step to inject the SuperUser into the phone he swapped the Defy with the Defy Mini, here is a video as proof that he has SuperUser acces to his Defy Mini.

He also posted on a forum a tutorial, it is in his language but i managed to translate it for you in English.

HINT: We will have another special at 50 signatures and 100 signatures. The next one will be about customization and personalization.

As promised here comes the 50 Signatures Special, it's all about customization and personalization of your android device, make it look like if you would have Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or 4.1 (Jelly Bean) if your device isn't compatible or updateable to these version you can still have a nice looking android device.
Here are some launchers, themes, lockers, widgets, wallpapers and keyboards that will help you achieve your goal.
Holo Launcher, very small, lite and simple yet one of the best ICS Launchers out there. -
Jelly Bean Launcher, I have never used this one but it looks very promising. -
If you are using Go Launcher or Apex Launcher you can use these themes.
Jelly Bean Apex Theme -
Jelly Beans Go Launcher Theme -
Jelly Bean Theme Go Launcher -
If you have Go Launcher you probably have Go Locker too.
Jelly Bean Go Locker Theme -
Jelly Bean Search Widget -
Jelly Bean Wallpaper Gallery -
Jelly Bean Live Wallpaper -
Ice Cream Sandwich Keyboard -
IceCream Sandwich-ICS Keyboard -
ICS Keyboard -
Hopefully you like this special and these customization apps please your desires.

This petition isnt against no one, its just to attract attention so someone tries to find a way to root this device.

Exclamation .

Please do not spam the thread with repetitive information from 1st post, letīs try to keep this clean.

HTC Butterfly 2 - HTC One M8 - HTC Universal

XDA is about developing and is for developers. Any user that recognizes that will gain the most benefit from this site

This is and always will be a site for developers, pure and simple. Without them we are nothing, without them there would be no reason for XDA Developers to exist; we should never ever forget that. Without them this place would not be called XDA-Developers but something else, e.g Mobile Phone User Support Services For Ungrateful Nerds.

Previous devices: HTC: Treo 650 - Excalibur - Diamond - Diamond 2 - Maple - HD2 - Rhodium - Desire Z - Desire HD - Vivid - Sensation - One V - One X - Titan II - One X+ - DNA - Butterfly
