Well, for some of us, it's not downgrading. I'm still on rooted stock Gingerbread because I'm learning Android with the Note, and the official ICS is a great thing for folks like me so we can get the official Kernel and ICS functionality while we wait on something like official CM9/10 to drop for the device.

Canadian here with a Telus Note.

Downloaded the TAR.MD5 from Samfirmware.com -- it flashed using ODIN just fine til it got to the modem -- barfed on the AT&T modem and that part of the flash failed.

Everything else worked just fine. Still hate the stock email app with a passion normally reserved for 'hurtin country' and 'death metal'.

Back to AOKP this morning... the stock 'blue flavored' email app .. I can't get past how terrible is.

"in the know"...LOL
There are a lot of reasons why people can't do custom roms. Using a work provided phone probably leads that list. They come here for news and customizations that may not require root. For being "in the know", you certainly don't know much...lol.

Default Having problems with push email after upgrading to ICS

I already posted this as a new thread, but then I realized it should be here....

I am having a problem recieving push email notifications after I upgraded to the stock AT&T ICS upgrade. Anyone seeing this issue? Its a problem on both the stock email app and gmail. The gmail app is a bit better as I am at least getting them after a delay, but the stock email, using exchange, is just never getting them. Any ideas?

Im curious whether to take the plunge on this rom or wait until our amazing devs get their hands on the source
It is OTA ICS. Some people think it is worth it, others dont. I like it and will stick with it for a while till some ROMS come out with the new source.

Guys,

For reference I upgraded to ICS from stock rooted GB via the following:

1. Plugged in stock rooted GB note to Win7 64bit PC using factory USB cable.

2. Started Kies and it requested to update the firmware for the Note.

3. A total of two progress dialog boxes appeared with downloads.

4. After the downloads, The Note was automatically put into Download mode and the firmware dialog progress started.

5. After the progress dialog completed (2-3 minutes) the phone rebooted and went into the typical ICS "Optimizing x of x Applications" dialog box.

6. Everything completed after that and obviously root was gone but everything previously was intact and ICS was good to go.

Also I used the non flash counter increase 500+ MB root process when I was running GB stock.
