How to flash:
Boot into recovery (i'm not holding your hand)
wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache, boot and battery stats
flash the rom posted below
flash the update zip (if one is available)
*optional* flash a custom kernel (if you do this, please report what kernel you flash and whether or not it breaks anything!)
reboot system
enjoy your buttah!

**sorry, no flashable update zips anymore...that's the price we have to pay for ota updates with goo manager.
***you can restore nandroid data over v6a if it's from THIS rom ONLY
****If for some reason root is not working for you, flash this SU binaries zip in recovery***

Paul627g's extended power menu mod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1771200

Kernel tests:
matr1x - breaks audio (reporetd by kijp15)
air - breaks audio (there are reports v3.5 may work) (reported by ubnub82)
trinity - breaks camera and possibly google music (reported by the1dynasty)
kylesum - works with BLN (no settings in bln control app) and overclocking (thanks to kylesum for building this!!)
GladOS - v2.11 - works with bln, oc, voodoo (100% working possibly?) - (reported by xuser)

Credit goes to kylesum for the working wifi, data & voice service....I just posted the compiled rom to the OP

I used the audio files from this flashable zip to get audio working (you do NOT need to flash this...it's only linked to give credit to the dev who fixed it for nexus s)

Changelog

changes in v7:
added brainmaster's tweeks:
-zipalign at every boot
-init.d scripts
-build.prop tweeks
added 1% battery mod (thank you paul627g)
moved eri.xml from /data/ to /system/framework/framework-res.apk where it belongs (fixes data roam indicator error)
added apns.xml to /system/framework/framework-res.apk (adds some proprietary sprint info)
added apns-conf.xml to /system/etc/ (adds some proprietary sprint info)
added goo manager info to /system/build.prop (allows for ota updates and automatic push notifications for updates via goo manager)

changes in v6a:
Voice Search/Google Now fix from steven676
Roaming indicator fix

Changes in v6:
fixed FC loop at boot
removed "roaming indicator" message fix. can still be manually applied successfully

Changes in v5: (borrowed mostly from steven676's post...edited to reflect crespo4g version)
libhardware_legacy.wifi.so updated to support wifi tethering.
Permissions on /system/etc/bluetooth fixed to allow BlueZ to see its config files -- fixes phone calls over a Bluetooth headset, plus lots of other Bluetooth-related functionality.
hwcomposer.s5pc110.so replaced with a build from Jelly Bean-based source -- hopefully fixes hwcomposer bugs people have been experiencing. (See this post for more information.)
/system/etc/media_codecs.xml and /system/etc/media_profiles.xml copied from the Jelly Bean device/samsung/crespo tree -- video recording now works.
/system/lib/libjni_mosaic.so copied from Nexus 7 JRN84D image -- panoramic camera now works.
/system/framework/framework-res.apk edited with corrected eri.xml to fix the "data roaming indicator OFF" message"

credits & thank yous:
steven676 - for discovering most of the patches used to make this rom usable/stable, and offering his assistance in making them work for NS4G
kylesum - for porting working wifi & data
Paul627g - for his awesome mods!)
indirect - his ported rom is used as the base for this
jblazea50 - eri.xml (fixes data roaming indicator on notification bar)
Google, for making our devices so fast I can barely keep up
Linus Torvalds for telling nvidia "f*ck you" (LMFAO) and creating linux in the first place
anyone else who has had a hand in this...sorry if I forgot to mention you

The files required to fix audio are here, under the service pack one for crespo, but they work on crespo 4g
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=258

just package the files from service pack one and your rom will have audio!

I knew this would happen. I don't have my NS4G anymore. We were forced to move to Verizon due to budget and coverage issues. So now I'm sporting an HTC Thunderbolt.... It's nice... but it's not my NS4G
HTC Thunderbolt (stock)

This is based on CM9-RC1 yes? Is there a way around adb not having root permissions by default as the option to give it root permission does not exist as it does in CM9?

No, this originates from the ota given to galaxy nexus users at google i/o. It's got absolutely no code from cm at all.

Alright, would you mind helping me out with this then?
Code:
$ adb root
"root access is disabled by system setting - enable in settings -> development options".
EDIT: going to try adb shell su -c su or something.
