Wipe does not have anything to that error. Checksum of nandroid backup is wrong so either there was an error during downloading or when backup was written to sd. When you do a backup in recovery, that last stage is calculation of MD5 checksum. If you restore the backup, the checksum is calculated again in order to be sure that your backup is 100% healthy and you won't break your device by writing damaged data into it.

I don't know if Stock Gingerbread ROM (non-rooted) will be able to make as flashable .zip file
It it is possible, it would nice to easy install official ICS with it just by updating with LG update tool....

Just flash it with smartflash, do a factory reset afterwards and everything will be fine.
