No ideas for now, sorry. Orical could flash on a t-mo with 1.09.
When you dd the image and then extract that same partition, do you get back what you dd'd in or do you get the stock splash? Can you also try if it makes a difference to fastboot boot into a recovery image?

Even if it not about the boot splash, it's still interesting to know which factors determine what you can flash into emmc partitions.
Thanks,

I don't have any issues but theres more going on with these devices than we actually know.

If you live in the us and your on hboot 1.09 or 1.06 this should be good, this shouldn't be hit or miss though.

Must be an HBOOT issue. I changed my CID so that I could unbrand the phone and installed the "default" HTC EU 1.78 RUU. After that I got an OTA update for Android 4.0.4. In any case, my HBOOT is v. 1.14 and flashing doesn't seem to do anything...

Man I'm staying right were I am then, unless some unbelievable update comes out that makes the phone 10x better than it is now I'm not updating anything.

I never knew that the HBoot gets updated when installing the OTA Update ...
Well, flashing doesnt work anymore because of HBOOT, thats why we also have to flash the new TWRP Version.
Did you try it by hand ( shell ) ?
That SHOULD still work, since we can also still write new Kernels.
Previous Phones: (which I remember)
BlackBerry Pearl 8110 » Nokia C6-00 *destroyed* » HTC One S (ville) *bricked* » Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300)

That's what I was thinking too, people reporting the newer hboots have to use a more direct approach but unless they blocked it you should be able to still flash manually.

Here you go.

@v3n3 and Orical: I believe that those with newer HBOOTs can only flash boot images / kernels through fastboot, not from recovery.
