Got it! Did an ADB push to system/app and now my messaging icon is gone. Rebooting and hope it cures it!!

nope, MMS icon is gone! lol...****

If I push my backup mms.apk it seems to show back up...but my compiled one wont show in the app drawer

LOL you have to set the permissions. If you have root explorer change the permissions to match the other system apps. Like i said.. flash these things.. dont just push them. Flashing them saves so much trouble. Gunna upload my Empty.zip flashable for others to use.

I'll try the flashable route maybe or recompiling. I knew about permissions and figured I'd save you the hassle and set it myself back to the way they should be. Still didnt work. Thanks for your help...sorry about all this. I'll try and figure it out.
