Default ICS

Listen guys im coming from the cappy. im reading these stickies but i want to make sure that im doing this right as borking my phone is NOT an option. I just flashed stock-rooted kh7 through odin. Whats the fastest way to get to ICS? I was reading that i have to flash a gb kernel with mobile odin...is this required or is there a new quicker way? Thanks fellas
ROM: CyanogenMod 10.1
Theme: Icee AOCP
Kernel: Boost 234

Unless you want to do it with AT&T's stock firmware over Kies (which I don't suggest) then you're going to need CWM. Odin/Mobile Odin-ing a custom kernel's the easiest way to install that.

To get a custom kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery, you must flash a GB kernel while you have a GB stock system.

I've never tried this, but you could probably install mobile odin and flash the full ICS firmware of your choice without installing a custom kernel first. I don't see any reason that would not work.

Wrong question to ask bud. Try reading through some of the ones that look interesting and decide from there. If you don't like one, try another.

Tried 3 so far....what's with all the gb nostalgia goin on around here lol. Was gonna try the aokp but I can't stand pink unicorns on my device. Something like slimics would be perfect but ports not allowed.

AOKP works great, you can disabled the boot animation under general UI settings.

I've been running AOKP for months, and not a pink unicorn in sight.

Also, what do you mean by "ports not allowed"? We have an entire subforum dedicated to ported development.

I think he meant Slim ICS ports are not allowed (per the developers request).

Ah ok, I see. Did the developer say why he doesn't allow his rom to be ported?
