Scariest thing happened yesterday I was walking and had my phone in my hand and it slipped out my hand and few up about 4ft and fell face first on the a road. Because it landed face first and it being curved glass I expected it shattered but only the housing got a few scuffs haha I was so lucky but the fall did manage to make my battery and back cover come off and the back cover did get some scratch. And this was also the day I decided not to use my otter box defender

Well it did not fall because you had bad luck today and decided not to use the otter box defender on this day. It fell because you decided not to use the otter box defender and the GNEX is a super slippery device when you have no case on the thing.

I cannot imagine using this device without a case on it. It would probably slip out of my hand all day long. I do not know what is wrong with Samsung and their slippery materials. Same thing with my Epic 4G Touch I had. Without a case you could not hold onto that thing.

I was golfing and using my nexus to play music. Just had it sitting on the golf cart seat. A few holes and a lot of beers later I realized there was no music playing and my phone was gone and it was almost dusk out.

Me and my buddy turned back and searched all over for it. I thought it was a goner till we heard Bruce Springsteen playing in the distance and my friend miraculously found it in the grass.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Undervolting it, and it froze up, made a loud pop (what I thought was the CPU, was actually from the speaker) and the screen got insanely bright and shut off.

That scared me.

And it wouldn't boot afterwards.

My GNex still works fine though, my ROM didn't want to boot anymore.

I bought mine on launch day (Sprint, paid full retail price) and didn't buy a case for it because I liked the feel of the phone and "I never drop my phones anyway"....

...I dropped it on concrete and shattered the screen not even two weeks after I bought it. Had to pay $100 insurance deductible to get it replaced. Immediately bought an Otterbox Commuter case when I got the replacement.

On the plus side, the brand new replacement they sent me had a better screen... no purple tint and I don't notice any grainyness.

I let my wife use it for a day while I tested her phone.

Dropped it on the tiled kitchen floor at my cousin's house while pulling it out of my pocket. Lucky I have a Trident Kraken case on it

My worst moment with it was the day I received it, and didn't yet figure out how to root it... I was aware of the toolkit, but couldn't get drivers to work with it. Eventually the PdaNet drivers did work.
