I'm running paranoid android 1.9.4 with stock color and kernel, its not bad. And I have the disable color banding option enabled in performance

I believe that color banding option just applies arz's Gradient Fix; they built it in.

Found the right settings for my gnex with Trinity kernel and Trinity Kernel Toolkit. Went to the trouble of making a reference graphic I can trust in Photoshop. Then it was pretty easy. The main thing I found is that the gamma settings are far too low to see any detail in the near-blacks. Cranked all three gammas all the way up and then everything started to make sense.

contrast about -10
cab off, spice off
gammas all on 20
multipliers all on 150

Simple as that. Looks excellent. White whites, black blacks, gray grays, good detail in the near-blacks and near-whites, colors accurate. Voila!

Thanks. The phones do have different tints, so I should have said use 150 as a base setting for the color multipliers, and adjust each one 150 +/-10 until there's no color tint in the grays and whites.

Will have a fiddle at some point, 135, 135, 214, 0,0,0 trinity 0 looks good to me

I have yet to find optimum color settings

*edit: Here are the best I have come up with so far. I tried to match my GNex to my iMac screen color.

Trinity on Rasjellybean Rom

Contrast -17

Gamma:
Red 20
Green 17
Bluer 18

Multipliers:
Red 171
Green 156
Blue 154

Overall display brightness in Android settings set to about 80%
Nexus 7 / HTC One X+
prev devices: droid 1 • fascinate • nook color • inc2 • bionic • rezound • kindle fire • galaxy tab2 • gnex • iPhone 4s
