did you flash any themes or mods?

Also sounds like a bad download. May want to redownload Gapps and try again.

Does this include the new gvoice app with the jb notifications? The one that's not on the market yet? I've been looking for it, i heard it had some bugs, but i still want to try it out.

Any advices?

Thanks!

EDIT: Works with latest Classic Recovery

Are you using the latest CWM or TWRP for recovery?

should work. try twrp. There should be no permission issues unless the recovery is not running the command properly on your phone.

Installed TWRP v2.2.1 and tried to install it again. got the same result. also noticed that after it says installing update... it says LowRider-JB-GAPPS v5.3 and I dled the 5.4, don't know if you just forgot to update the version in the script or not.

set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/ROMS/LowRider-JB-GAPPS-NOMMS-(Status 7)
* Verifying filesystems...
* Verifying partition sizes...
Error flashing zip

Nope, nothing but those two zips. I guess I can try again.

Also, I'm getting these onto the phone with adb push, since mtp is broken in Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. Could that be an issue?

Try the v5.4.1.

Checked it and does say 5.4 not 5.3. Not sure where you downloaded from.
