Default Want input for Inspire 4g

Dear Friends,

I am new to this forum. I never rooted any android phone.

Recently I got Ispire with Core droid rom.

I want to improve the battery life and speed.

Which rom, kernel, tweeks I should install?
From where should I download all that free?
What will be the procedure of installatin?

Regards,

Umair Bhaur

If you read through this Inspire forum, it has instructions on how to do all of that. If you want to learn about this phone and what you can do with it, doing the research yourself is the best way to figure it out. As for downloading the roms and tweaks, every rom forum has the downloads listed in their posts somewhere, typically within the first two posts. I think it is a great phone and there is a lot that can be done with it, you just have to look around and do some research.

There are several good ROMS for inspire 4g. It cuts down to your preferences (Sense based ROMs or other ROMs). In my opinion other ROMs (AOKP, AOSP, CM, MIUI) are fast compared to sense based ROMs. Here is a list of some ROMs to try out.

Ginger bread: RcMiX3D rom version 4.0, LeeDroid, virtuous affinity ROMs
ICS (with sense 4.0): Though camera in not fixed, there are several ROMs to try, ICEsense
ICS (other ROMs): AOSP by existz, MIUI, Unofficial CM9

Regarding Kernels, Each rom has a preferred kernel which will comes along with the ROM.

All the best with the ROMS. Welcome to Inspire XDA.

Coredroid rom looks great but is a huge battery sucker.

If you want a great rom that has great battery life... Look for Rum Runner RC3

It's my go to ROM on business trips because of how long the battery lasts.

All ROMs, Kernels, Tweaks are almost always free (actually I think it's illegal to charge for them, with android being open source and all. I haven't looked through the legal aspects yet, so I can't be sure.)

Go with flashing ROMs first, they'll be the most obvious changes to your phone. They usually come pre-tweaked as well, so you won't have to bother with those, although if you want to, there are a large amount of them that are usually ROM specific- make sure you have the right one. As you get more confident, go ahead with kernels and radios.

I've found that CM ROMs usually are faster and have amazing batter life. The trade off is that they're very sparse.

Sense ROMs are very powerful, but they have average battery life and can be slow. They do have a lot of pre installed gadgets that often times you can't get on the market, and they require HTC's framework to operate (meaning they only com with, and work on Sense ROMs). The main reason I use a sense ROM is because of the awesome camera.

There are plenty of other ROMs out there, I've just never used them enough.

Also, check out Desire HD ROMs as well. Both are nearly identical phones (everything is the same, the I4g is just 4g capable, the DHD can only use 3g), and ROMs will generally be made for both phones. Sometimes the DHD forums will have a few ROMs not shown on the I4g forums.

BTW: everything is just my opinion and based on what works on my phone, and my phone alone. YMMV
