There are two channels for Archos and two channels for the g9 on Freenode. #archosg9-xda is the most active. See also #archos and #openpma.

This build should also work on sdcard models:

No other changes.

There's a local manifest in android_repo_local_manifest with sync and build instructions.

My device tree is forked from trevd's. If the 3g stuff worked with his, it should work with mine. (I have no modem to test with.)

Current changes:
  • Fixed Settings -> Stroage crash.
  • Fixed android.process.media crashes.
  • Fixed MTP.
  • Set the HDD spin-down timeout to 2 minutes at boot. Edit /system/etc/init.d/99hdd to change the timeout.
  • Remove 'Recovery' and 'Bootloader' options from 'Reboot tablet' menu.
  • Remove CM bits from the device tree in ics and ics-aokp branches.
Outstanding issues:
  • Power off/Reboot sometimes sits forever in an infinite loop.
  • The battery meter incorrectly shows a charging state when connected via USB to a computer.
  • Touchscreen performance is still awful.
Untested on sdcard models as I don't own one.

Here is a filesystem image which includes the HDD fixes: archos.ext4.bz2

The base image is surdu's beta3, but /system has been appended with my build.

I'd appreciate it if someone using an sdcard model could install it and tell me if anything breaks. Thanks in advance.

Unhappy Crazy

I have a strange issue I hope someone can help me with it for the HDD 250 9g. I had swapped out my hdd for a WD single platter 500gb and every since I flashed these AOKP my touch screen has been unresponsive with out the power cord plugged in. Without the power cord I cant use the touch screen but when I plug it up and reboot it works perfect. Please help me this is really frustrating. I dint have this issue with ICSBLUE V03. Its like if the battery isnt full thats when I have issues.

...just downloaded it, but 7-zip (on win7) stops with "1 error in file" at ca 26% ...(downloaded twice, tried several times). Is there another download possibility? Thx.

I've hit a touchscreen bug also. The top (in portrait) or left side (in landscape) of the screen sometimes won't register touches. I thought I broke the tablet, but CM9 works just fine.

Do you have this with surdu's build, with my build, or both?

I'll look into it.

Hmm, the bzip works for me, but here is a link to the uncompressed image:

There are a few graphics issues with all the CM9/AOKP ROMs at the moment, and this is one of them. I have no idea why it happens, but it is on my todo list. It's kind of low priority since it mostly works well enough, but I/someone will get to it before long.

This may sound crazy, but my theory is that this is related to a design flaw in the g9 where the touchscreen sometimes detects touches through the back or front-sides of the tablet from the hand you're holding it with. I think it's rapidly detecting touch events through the back, which cause things to jitter. Have you seen this happen when you're not holding the device, e.g. laying on flat surface?

Maybe Settings -> Developer Options -> Show touches can confirm/deny whether this is the problem.

In general, the touchscreen performs poorly on stock and AOKP, but seems to me to be much better on CM9 - which is weird because they all use the same kernel, and EventHub and InputReader for CM9 and AOKP are basically identical.

Try toggling Settings -> Developer options -> Force GPU rendering.

I've had issues with screen tearing in CM9, try changing the CPU governor from Interactive to Ondemand, for me this practically eliminated screen tearing.

Default Beta 3 HDMI

According to the first post HDMI is working on Beta 3 - but as i've tried it it doesn't - the screen stays black.

Is it me or the Beta3?
