Default [DEV] Topic to chat about dev (roms, kernel etc)

Hello,
currently there is no place to gather devs and ressources around.
This one is targeted to that.
Please, only dev talking, keep focused on the topic..

Ressources available :
* Dee's-Troy's Git:
https://github.com/Dees-Troy/android...acer_picasso_m
(Acer Iconia Tab A510 device configuration for TWRP (WIP))

* My own git:
https://github.com/BENETNATH/vendor_...acer_picasso_m
It contains vendors files from A510.
I filled it by comparing a clean AOSP build (JB) with the 1.60 Acer Firmware

I have another folder which worked to build an AOSP (not tested), created from Dees-troy and another TF300 git, will upload to git if requested

and now, feel free to talk

I was a week on vacation so I have to get up to date again. Before my vacation I had succesfully compiled the kernel sources initially provided by acer (https://github.com/TauNeutrino/andro...casso_m_kernel). I also managed to build the grouper config from JB AOSP (Nexus 7 - also a T3 device). My thought was to use the AOSP grouper config as starting point and merge the A510 /A700 specific sources into it. I had not the courage to try anything out on the live system though - not as long as I have no fallback strategy.

I also had some fun with the Tegra APX mode (NVFlash -> would make our device unbrickable) but the CPU is in secure mode and therefore the key is needed in order to flash anything to it. I had a chat with Acer about this topic but european support will not provide anything. The other support locationes "are not responsible" for me. So I got stuck there.

Chinese Acer support won't deliver anything either... I guess they're afraid of giving away that kind of advanced tooling...
