[CM9]-[CM10]-[Patch] GPS V3 & V4 and GPSfix app (Beta) updated 14.11.2012

New GPS-Fix V4 for MaclawStudios CM9 RC1 (and Roms based on this build)
Choose patch which is the nearest to your country to get a faster gps lock.
V4 patch should also work on CM10 (PLZ report here in thread if it works or not since im not using CM10 for now)
Changelog:
- Added SUPL_TLS_HOST support
- Added SUPL_TLS_CERTIFICATES
- Added INTERMEDIATE_POSITION support (lower accurate location at start for faster use but after few secs accuracy gets much better)
- Removed gps.cooper.so (not needed anymore in RC1)
- should work on CM10 now

----------Old V3 Patch vor CM9-preRC1 builds----------

The V3 Patch for CM9 pre-RC1 builds to get a working GPS (AGPS with manual edit build.prop file accuracy ~6 meters) in MaclawStudios CM9 beta 9/10 and custom Roms based on this build.
Patches are sorted by Region (fastest fix is for preconfigured Country, but you can edit Country in gps.conf file later after flashing but it will work without changing the Country if you choose the right region, it only takes a few seconds more for GPS lock)

WARNINGS:

1. This app will replace your entire gps.conf, so if you made manual changes back them up first.
2. this is only confirmed working on maclaw's CM9/CM10 if you try this with anything else it probably won't go over well.
3. this is only a beta, so in case your country doesn't seem to work, try another name. or look at http://pool.ntp.orgfor the names that I used
4. Requires the install of V4 GPS Fix otherwise the SUPL_TLS_CERTIFICATES are missing.

Its still the V3 Patch but now for different Regions.
1st V3 patch was mainly for Europe (with Germany preconfigured)
Now its available for 5 Regions.

took a while to locating myself although I flashed the one for my region.. but when it works, 4 meters of accuracy! REAL COOL

1. working with amarullz's script?? ( previous one had problem with it i guess! though hadnt tested myself) cant be testing and reflashing for few weeks because of exams!!
2. can you give details about how to configure for your country for better and fast fix!!????

About point 2..:

(Visit http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/@ there are the servers... if there's no your country i would recommend the server of nearest country or the server of the country that has the most active servers in same continent but i don't think it varies that much..)

Those are the edits I'd suggest you to make in GPS.conf. The original values are

de = country
europe = region

Its just multiple versions of version 3 so I guess you're unlucky about the ammarulz thing.

In the GPS.conf file the first 3-4 lines consist of lines which (in the European version) will look like this.

TOOLS NEEDED:
-root explorer or some similar tool.
-internet.
-a functioning brain.

NTP_SERVER=de.pool.ntp.org

NTP_SERVER=0.de.pool.ntp.org

NTP_SERVER=1.de.pool.ntp.org

NTP_SERVER=2.de.pool.ntp.org

Since you, like me for example, might not live in Germany. You want to change it.

1. You go to http://www.pool.ntp.org and there on the right hand side you're gonna choose your continent. This will take you to a list of countries with there server name next to it.

2.you look up the country you're in on the list and look at the server address. Do you see how amazingly similar they are to the values that are already there? So with that server address from, for example Holland, in mind you're gonna go to your GPS.conf

3. Then using root explorer we're going to edit those first few lines. So that its your countries server address that's behind the "=". So when you're from Holland like me, it should then look like this.

NTP_SERVER=nl.pool.ntp.org

NTP_SERVER=0.nl.pool.ntp.org

NTP_SERVER=1.nl.pool.ntp.org

NTP_SERVER=2.nl.pool.ntp.org

Some Amarullz and Adrenaline engine users reported bootloops in 1st v3 patch but Adrenaline engine is for android 2.3.x and cm7.x. Noone has send me a logcat and i surely wont install adrenaline engine since its not meant to be installed on android 4.x and cm9. So i cant reproduce it on my both ace devices. So im still waiting for logcats...
