I've experienced the same thing on the latest cm10 nightly and latest aokp release. Tried flashing both twrp/cwm recoveries old and up to date. I could use some help with this issue as I'm dumbfounded. (I know it has to do with symlinks)

is the proper way to flash this over a a rooted stock rom? i tried that after downloading the zip file from the xda app on my phone, then i tried flashing the zip and it said aborted..?

Roman of AOKP once told me to flash cwm from the rom manager app to fix that problem and it worked.

Dirty flash? No. Don't forget to do all the necessary wipes and have the most up to date cwm.
