I no longer develop for this phone. If you wish to use this version of Cyanogenmod then by all means please do. However if you are looking for a more up-to-date version of this ROM then please search around in the Wildfire S forum for a modified and more up to date version by another developer.
These builds should still work and be stable but no support will be provided.
CyanogenMod (pronounced /saɪ.'æn.oʊ.dʒɛn.mɒd/) is an open source replacement firmware for smart phones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in the official firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod include native theming support, FLAC audio codec support, a large Access Point Name list, an OpenVPN client, an enhanced reboot menu, support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering, CPU overclocking and performance enhancements, soft buttons and other "tablet tweaks", toggles in the notification pull-down (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS), app permissions management, as well as other interface enhancements. According to its developers, CyanogenMod does not contain spyware or bloatware. CyanogenMod is also stated to increase performance and reliability compared with official firmware releases.
CyanogenMod is developed as free and open source software based on the official releases of Android by Google, with added original and third-party code.
CyanogenMod was first ported to the HTC Wildfire S by alquez via CM7, it was later ported by gladiac to CM9, this was a big leap as Google had changed multiple things in the 4.0 Android update. I personally took the challenge of porting gladiac's work to the jellybean version of Cyanogenmod, CM10. Once I had a booting ROM I posted it on XDA. Since then, many things have changed in CM's own code and I have merged many of WinSuk's and gladiac's fixes into my personal repos.
