Default [OFFICIAL ROM NIGHTLIES][6/12/13][4.2.2] ParanoidAndroid 3.60 - Hello Halo!

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.

Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

  • I received confirmation from the man himself, molesarecoming, that it is ALRIGHT to dirty flash! So, for the last couple of updates, I have been doing just that! And guess what? It ACTUALLY is still quite stable and operates just fine!
DIRTY FLASHING
  • So, for dirty flashes, this is what I have done with success! (And as an added bonus, we now dont have to keep re-setting up our paranoid settings! After flashing it WILL LOOK NORMAL! But, save your configuration before going into recovery to flash, after flashing, just go to paranoid settings and restore your backup!)
  • Reboot into recovery
  • WIPE CACHE
  • WIPE DALVIK CACHE
  • FLASH UPDATE (ROM) ( Downloads can now be found in the 3rd post )
  • RE-FLASH GAPPS ( Downloads can now be found in the 3rd post )
  • WIPE DALVIK CACHE (AGAIN)
  • FIX PERMISSIONS
  • REBOOT & ENJOY!
  • If you are experiencing problems or such, then I would resort to a FULL WIPE!
FULL WIPE INSTRUCTIONS
  • YOU NEED TO FULLWIPE IF YOU WERE USING ANOTHER ROM BEFORE! I say, ALWAYS FULL WIPE!!
  • YOU MUST BE USING THE NEWEST CWM!! VERSION 6.0 OR ANOTHER OR USE TWRP. CWM CAN BE UPDATED THROUGH ROM MANAGER AND TWRP CAN BE INSTALLED THROUGH GOO MANAGER.
  • Wipe factory/data
  • wipe cache
  • wipe dalvik cache
  • wipe system
  • Install Rom ( Downloads can now be found in the 3rd post )
  • Install Gapps ( Downloads can now be found in the 3rd post )
  • Wipe Dalvik Cache, just to be sure!
  • Reboot
  • Then, this next step is optional, but I usually let the phone sit there for 10-15 mins, reboot back into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik and fix permissions. Reboot, Enjoy!
  • Edit your Apps Dpi & Layout under Settings/Paranoid Settings to your liking!
  • Video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72Ow-YQeex4

  • If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
  • 1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
  • 2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
  • 3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
  • ... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
  • ... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
  • ... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

-Version 2.54
-Latest CM merges!
-Cooked fresh, no spoiled food this way!
-Fix for phablet mode buttons
-Other things I'm sure, PA team hasn't updated changelog yet.

-Version 2.53
-The latest cm merges are in here! (Seems there is a new charging icon for the circle batt mod introduced by the cm team! Not sure if it were there in 2.52, but it is in here)
-On the PA side: Per app color should be fixed

-Final fix for expanded desktop
-There's more I'm sure, will update once I know
-I also wanted to bring the experience of android 4.2 to the table, but the apps just weren't playing right. I was able to however add the newest gmail and market from 4.2 to the newest gapps. (It can be found using the gapps link!)
-Added the nexus 4 sounds!

-Version 2.52
-It was all about colors
-
Per app color, latest PA invention, Let's you define navbar color, navbar glow color, navbar buttons color, and statusbar color on per app basis.
-
Statusbar and navbar color (Independently from per app color, define default colors)
-
Statusbar transparency and navbar transparency are finally back (Navbar transparency is only enabled on launcher)
-
Toggles color scheme
-
A lot of fixes to ParanoidPreferences

-Version 2.51
-Some maintenance really for the per-app-color picker.

-Hybrid, check environment (Disables build.prop ro.sf.lcd_density)
-More butter than ever!
-Double IME on tablet fixed
-Faster notification panel for tablet
-Day of week and month in statusbar
-Expanded desktop status text
-Better backout gradient
-Do-not-disturb will deal with the ticker, not kill the sounds
-Two new toggle layouts: holo-button and toggle-rows (good for tabUI)
-Stretching option to fit them on the screen
-Merged upstream CM as always (circle battery (PURE CODE!!), etc, etc)
-Lots and lots of bugfixes
-MORE I'm sure, will update further as I find out info

-Version 2.16
-Tablet UI: "Notifications" in the notification panel/settings view will now control the nag-overlay. Switch it off and you wont be bothered by it anymore. Notifications still come in with sound, icons show still.
-Tablet UI: The notification ticker (the overlay) had a double avatar for messages. AOSP bug, looks perfect now.
-Double recents SHOULD be fixed now. in rare cases it happened that you get twice the amount of your recents, mostly at startup. AOSP bug.
-Front activity is not hidden from recents anymore. That means you can close the currently running app by swiping the thumbnail away. Also pretty neat for accessing hybrid props fast.
-Center clock method rewritten, avoiding invalid behavior
-Statusbar transparency method also rewritten to change alpha instead of background color
-Googles latest revision 6 has been merged by CyanogenMod. If you're using a Nexus it will probably kill every phone out there right now regarding speed and snappyness. For those who don't, buy nexus next time, or wait for samsung to give you project butter next spring. (Molesarecoming's words)
-Bugfixes, lil bit of memory saving.

Known issues:
  • Statusbar transparency can still cause issues for some devices, especially in tabUI. If you experience flickering, blinking or anything strange please set your statusbar opacity to 0%
  • Anything that shuts down the navigationbar will mess with googles home-button swipeup-to-gsearch function. There will be no delay anymore. You can reboot and it will be fine. Its an aosp issue - but we will look into it.
  • Some users reported that trebuchet in its tabUI crashes. We dont maintain it and hope that cyanogenmod will fix it. If not, should anyone of us have time we'll look into it as well. Should you have that, either use another UI layout, or try a different launcher.
-Version 2.15
-Fix for trebuchet crash in tabUI
-Fix for tabUI do-not-disturb setting against notification-popup (switch off notifications in the toggle section of your tabUI notificationcenter and you won't be getting these awful nag-pop-ups.)
-Lockscreen see-through
-Missing google r6 patches, merged by cm
-And as always, built fresh from the source!
-Latest cm merges! There are always lots of merges, for further insight, you may check the changelogs here: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#d2tmo/cm10

-Version 2.13.2
-A lot more stable in my opinion!
-The PA team added transparent statusbar

-Version 2.13
-Center clock option implemented, for stock ui and maybe phablet, not sure. Does not work on tablet mode!
-All ParanoidPreferences problems fixed
-Fixed phone offcenter layout issue
-Clear-all functionality on recents apps
-CyanogenMod navigation bar customization, Paranoid'ed
-build.prop tweaks

-Version 2.12
-PA updated to version 2.12!
-ParanoidPreferences 3.1. Faster loading and writing. Superuser almost avoided.
-Optional menu button, or just merge with recents in tabUI.
-Fixes for frozen sysbar in tabUI
-CRT animation!
-Desktop clock now has stopwatch and countdown screens!
-Lots of CM commits, kernel and lots of apps updated
-3 Icons Nav Bar, in phoneUI

-Version 2.11
-Lots of CM merges!
-PA had a little something as well!
-PIP (picture in picture) working on this build!
-More I'm sure, will update when I know

-Changed debugging icon to the one from cm10

-Version 2.00
-Built fresh from source!
-CM latest merges and new features

You must be looking from the mobile app. The pictures tell the story. This is a Hybrid rom with per app density and per app layout. You can run in multiple modes, from Tablet UI, to Standard phone mode or even Phablet mode which is a cross between tablet UI and Phone mode. Apps can have their densities changed separately if you choose so.

Got it, I guess I was asking more specifically about the type of kernel, and the other known JB problems such as the faulty haptic feedback, charging/missed event LED along with the white touch LED's.

I'm still going to try this out, just curious if everything is functional, I used this ROM on the Google Nexus S.
