Not really. It's more like BMW made a super-efficient new engine and put it in a Lexus to show how much better it can do, even in an inferior setting.

I can't freaking dl it. Says my device is incompatible on the play store...

You need to flash a froyo Rom, it only works on froyo.

I like how Google can release their apps for older version of iOS but can't release this kind of stuff for older versions of Android. Chrome for example.

Chrome is a sad neutered experience on iOS because Apple doesn't let it use Safaris Nitro Engine.
