This is a guide that has all the files you need to DL.
Basically it will guide you through downloading Odin (open disc in a nutshell) and the two files you need to flash the phone back to stock 2.1 eclair. It will tell you how to put phone in DL mode. Never disconnect a phone from PC while Odin is running.
After that, it will guide you through the rooting the phone and getting a custom recovery(clockwork mod).
CWM recovery is what is needed to install a custom rom.

Yeah. Just follow all the steps and you should have no trouble. Took me all day, trying to go straight from Froyo to HB, but when I took my time and went the way we showed you, it worked like a charm.

Are you on GB boot loader? Make sure your using correct button combo to get to recovery. Think its down and power at same time. Kind of a pain in the butt to do until you get the hang of it. Soon as you see Samsung let go and it should give yellow text scrolling, then recovery menu.

°thats not exactly rooting. The HB ROM has root though, so when all is finished you will be rooted.

Also make sure when HB is installed, when you first boot it let it sit and don't touch it for 10 min or so

If you get stuck pm me

Yeah. Don't skip anything either. Update.zip then wipe and everything install froyo then wipe, etc. Then cm nightly, etc. Don't skip, will likely just slow you down.
