Great! It's one of it's features that makes it such an interesting buy for me as an art student

Looks really smooth!

Yeah, I saw the minipcpro review yesterday as well. Didn't really like it though. The people who do these reviews look like they've never used tablets to take lecture notes. All the test they do are a couple of words in thick ink, which doesn't really show the precision. I've tried once again to do the same on my dad's fujitsu t900 tablet pc (I would get one for myself, but boy is that thing HEAVY...) - I can accurately write with 1 pixel thickness on a 1440x900 display.

What they spend a lot of time doing, however, is showing that stupid formula ocr translation tool. By now, we all get that it works. And I'm not saying this feature is totally useless. I just don't see how you can use it efficiently when you need to quickly copy stuff from the blackboard, under pressure, before it gets erased...

Tabtech.de also promised a 'student' review yesterday. I liked their through general review (search for tabtech on youtube) - hopefully the student review would be as good.

Do you still have the SPen cursor setting, like ICS N7000 does?

Another good in-depth video specifically for S-Note operations:

Okay, here is the "student" video from tabtech.de:
<youtube> /watch?v=UDLtJ6gFSBo

For those who don't speak German:
- Really good palm rejection, probably the best seen on a tablet
- Very high accuracy digitizer
- OCR works rather well, even for very small/cursive fonts
- pdf files can be imported/exported into S-Note (although can take some time, ~300 pages in example)
- wikipedia opens normally, as it would on pc
- Formula OCR works ok, but has some trouble with capital letters
- the smallest ink size appears to be a couple of pixels thick. Not great, but still very usable. Other apps might do better.
- pdf reading interface in s-note is slightly complicated - problems with scrolling, choosing page numbers
- can print from s-note directly to compatible printer

A couple of other apps:
- ezpdf also works ok and is faster, but not optimized for s-pen
- polaris office - as usual, nothing new (not many dedicated s-pen functions).

Qoppa PDF Notes is also good for annotating PDFs.

I'm really looking forward to more S-Pen and S-Pen software (S-Note or whatever they call it) reviews, especially when taking real notes over a significant period of time. A couple of people here have reported crashes and freezes when using their software. If their software isn't robust enough, then that totally defeats the point of getting a Note (for me, at least).

I just want to see someone actually write a full page of notes on it.
