CyanogenMod

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

This ROM is only for the T-Mobile Vibrant (SGH-T959). For the Bell Vibrant (GT-i9000M), use the GT-i9000 ROM.

Code:
#include <std-disclaimer.h>
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear
 * war, or the current economic crisis caused by you following these
 * directions. YOU are choosing to make these modificiations, and
 * if you point your finger at me for messing up your device, I will
 * laugh at you.
 */
Please note: Please only post development related issues here, you can use this thread as a discussion thread.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review instance.

Considerations for upgrading to CM10.1 from CM10
Nightlies: http://get.cm/?device=vibrantmtd&type=nightly
Google Apps: goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip (for CM10.1, NOT CM10!)

How to Install

From Samsung stock
  1. Follow the CyanogenMod full update guide.

From CM7, CM9, CM10, or any other ROM with recovery access
  1. Do a nandroid backup (just in case)
  2. If upgrading from an UNOFFICIAL or NON-CYANOGENMOD ROM, wipe data!
  3. Install from ZIP
  4. Optionally install the Google Apps add-on.
  5. Reboot
WARNING: If you use Titanium Backup to backup your apps do not backup system data or system apps.

Installation from other ROMs may wipe your phone.

FAQ

Q: I can't add my Google account!
A: Install the Google Apps package from CWM recovery, linked above. This is standard procedure with CyanogenMod ROMs due to licensing issues with Google.

Q: Where can I find a change log for each nightly?
Here's one made by the folks over at bbqdroid.org: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#vibrantmtd/cm10.1/latest

The CyanogenMod team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

Not built yet by the build bot, if you go to get.cm you'll see other builds have been built.

FE, do you know why the Google sound widget "what's this song?" keeps on disappearing? One minute it's there, the next, its gone and I cannot find it... I have encountered this both on the alpha preview as well as this nightly. Is this an issue?
