Hi all
I have samsung galaxy s i9000
Firmware version 2.3.3
baseband version I9000JHJV9
kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9000JHJVG-cl788779 se.infra@SEI-45 #2
build number GINGERBREAD.JHJVG

I want to root my phone
please tell me how.

you can use any of the rooting tools ( links below on My Android Collections ) by USB connection with PC or just flash a CF Root kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 using Odin

what is the rooting tools?
and which CF root should i use, and which odin?

Rooting Tools push SU into your phone through ADB via PC, you can try any, most work for i9000

For CF ROOT choose according to your ROM or the closest , will work and can be flashed with any Odin as PDA

hey
you can follow the guide(below) to upgrade to 2.3.6 and then root it...that 'll be better if you are planning to flash roms..

I'm in a similar situation. Can you please explain why it would be better? I'm planning to flash aokp jelly bean once it hits a milestone.

Unhappy Help with Samsung Galaxy S SC-02b. Please! :(
I have this phone for a while now, and I want to root it and unlock its network (NTT docomo Japan). I am very desperate for a solution, found some ways to root and unlock it but unfortunately not working. Please please somebody help me!
