[TUTORIAL]update firmware through flashing the kdz files

Since i was frustrated with updating to V10f, i've asked so many people to solve my problem...
i'm here in Hong Kong and i haven't got the OTA update for V10f yet..
so i finally find a solution about that

it's from O2x section but i found that it works for P880 too (great work by felipemadox , not mine)

i just copy it here and for you all easier to know this method

Download these 3 apps: http://www.4shared.com/rar/Re4VCOAS/kdz-udpate.html (the original link is deleted, re-uploaded by RuedasLocas)

- Install B2CTools LG
- Extract the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip (ex.: C:\KDZ\)
- Install msxml.msi (located \KDZ)
- Extract WindowsEnabler.zip to the same folder as KDZ (ex.: KDZ\WindowsEnabler)

| 3 |
Run LGMobile update (must be on your desktop) and install the usb drivers

| 4 |
Reebot your O2x in SW Upgrade mode (remove the battery, turn on the device and hold the vol - key)

dont turn the on/off button, just hold down volume and plug the cable in

| 5 |
Open the Windows "Device Manager" > Modems > disable the LGE Mobile USB Modem

| 6 |
Run as administrator KDZ_FW_UPD.exe

| 7 |
- Run as administrator Windows Enabler.exe
- After run the app, an icon will appear on your tray, single-click on the icon util the "ON" text appears over the icon

- Go back to KDZ, locate press on the yellow folder and locate the .kdz file that you want to flash

- In my case, Optimus 2x P990h, the o type must be "3GQCT" and phonemode "DIAG"



| 9 |
- Click on "Launch Software Update" and don't click on anything else
- WAIT util your phone reboots automatically (5-7 min) and unplug the cable

- Dont care about the errorlog, it's normal

If you got only bootloop after flash .kdz, just do a hard reset:
- press and hold [vol -] and [power] until you got the "android recovery figure" and wait until they reboot again.

tested that root will lose after updating the firmware through this method

how do u enter sw update mode?
power and vol down gets me into recovery..

hold vol down while inserting usb cable connected to your pc

Hey thanks man, now I have v10f in Singapore where its only supposed to be v10c. THANKS!(also to the person who created this method)

it always shows "can't find your usb device" when flashing

it there some step wrong?

Step 5 - disable modem. If there is no LG modem then reconect or reboot device.

+1, it's there b4 i put the phone to S/W update mode
