Well Xperia ION is now interesting. I dont have one to test but feel free to test if it works and on which option
Normally it should work.

If ION has Sony "Backup&Restore" app in Menu you can choose option "LT26,LT22 etc.)
if NOT you can try Option "Other"

Does not work for Xperia P as well... ICS and has the backup and restore app
selected 3

Normal Mode enabled!
Please connect device with ADB-Debugging enabled now

698 KB/s (22364 bytes in 0.031s)
2510 KB/s (843503 bytes in 0.328s)
Please look at your device and click RESTORE!
If all is successful I will tell you, if not this shell will run forever


That's it... the phone does not prompt for a restore
