AOSP =/= CM10 base correct? So this would not work for anything based on CM10?

CM10 is AOSP based. With the One X you'd be talking about AOSP vs Sense based.

It would work with:
CM10
AOKP
ParanoidAndroid
MIUI

Anything that is not based off Sense, really

In the OP no frills in the play store is recommended. There are also recommended settings.
