Haven't had any issues with my 64gb card. I use to have issues with my GS2 and a 32gb card where the card would constantly get "damaged" and I would have to reformat it. I learned it was actually the SD card speed mod that was causing it in my case. Once I stopped using the mod, my cards never were "damaged" again

Before I used to remove my card often and transfer files using a card reader instead and that killed my card. Now I let the card rest in the phone and use a cable instead (it's slower but doesn't kill my card)

Well the first card i bought fom amazon, a sandisk 64 gb sdxc. The second was a 32 gb sandisk class 4.
Now that i can think better i think i just got bad luck with them.
This second car was 19 us and the 64 gb was 80 but i got the refund for it.
So i lost only 20 u$...not that much

And this. I have the same card actually, and same circumstances. Have used a few other cheap-o's with no issues as well.

Sounds to be a problem with the phone, or you got ripped off on both failing SD cards.. Are they dead 'dead'? Non working in a card reader connected to a pc?
The first wasn't all dead. I could see on partitioning programs but couldn t format it. I tried to fix it for 4 days and no go.
On the second the gs3 kept showing warnings of removed sd card. When i unmounted it never came back.
Well i think i buy a new 64 gb from amazon itself. Its 50 bucks there now. Unfortunaly i have to wait until november to buy the new one.

Samsung 32 gb class 10 original sd card. Over 3 months of use with not a single problem. Sandisk is pretty bad, I had problems even with the pendrives. Get a Sony or a Samsung. You better spend the money on a expensive one, you will see that you actually "save" money instead lose money (looks like you know what I mean ). Also, class 3-4 is pretty slow for HD recording and taking photos on burst.

BTW, do you know the cards have warranty right (they say lifetime warranty, but I don't trust them ) ? Also, the S3 have warranty too

probably it could also be improper mount/unmount card from the phone or did not proper disconnect from pc while system is still reading the card and cause the partition table corrupted, use hex editor software to zerolise the sd card and reformat again instead...

I've been using 32GB sandisk class 10 sd card since s2 till s3 and i do not face any issue at all...
