Default The EB40 Battery mod (ghetto style Atrix HD MAXX)

I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread. This battery mod should have it's own discussion.

I made it on my own brand new Atrix HD LTE and I'm very pleased with it.

it's easy and very effective.

I paid 54$ for the EB40 battery (an OEM Razr MAXX battery) and only had minimal mods on the phone internal frame to make it fit.

you will find some details in those posts ( I don't want to repost pictures from other members)

feel free to add your own pictures and comments

from a strictly technical standpoint, it almost doubled the time between charges, going from a 1780mAh battery to the MAXX 3300 mAh EB40

Default T5 or T3, or both

what type of screwdriver is required to remove the battery. Some have said T5 and I have seen some places where you need a T3 as well. I dont have either so I have to go buy one. Thanks.

I took a small blade screwdriver for the battery connector (one that just fits in the torx head) those screws are not too tight anyway. remember, I never had to remove the internal frame.

and I used a guitar pick to lift the flexible backing.

you just need to gently pry open the back cover starting at the sim card door.

it's completely straight forward, no need for a video. IF you think you absolutely need a video, just don't do it.

edit :

by the way, after 24h on battery, still at 74% left

I want to do this mod, but I worry about being able to seal the phone back up or it popping open after the thicker battery is in.

there's no gap, the only clue is a slight bulge in the flexible back cover where the battery is.

it closed up nicely, nothing very special and a lot cleaner than the RAZR to RAZR MAXX conversion kit.

I saw your signature that you mod Atrix lapdock to be used on Atrix HD. I'd like to know how you do it coz I also own one and never using it after I sold my Atrix.
Using :
- Asanti XT897 + Unlockable Bootloader Officially
- Qinara MB886 + Unlockable Bootloader Unofficially

Wonder if the new droid razr hd battery (2.530 mAh) would fit even better without that bump on the back?
Or instead of the 3200 mAh from the maxx the maxx hd 3300mAh battery?
