It means you wipe system partition. This is typically in mounts/storage in recovery or "format" ... it basically is like deleting all files in that directory.

honestly, bro, doesn't get any simpler than that. reboot to your recovery and do some exploring.

tried to find format partition. couldnt find it.

Now I feel even more confident installing ROM's. I'll remember to use that MD5 Checker app the next time I think about installing a ROM.
Current phone: Tmobile Samsung Galaxy S3 white 16gig w/32 gig SD card (rooted)
Previous phone Tmobile G2 (stock)

Previous phone: Tmobile G1 black (rooted)

My 1st child was born 12/30/10 and she's a cutie.
(I've been lurking around XDA since the G1 came out. I just recently decided to join.)

Thanks very much, this is a great guide for newbs like myself. I almost bricked my SGS3 and by the grace of god was able to fix it, but not without reflashing several times, and even going back to stock and then re-rooting.

This is a must, and a great reference for anyone, whether old or new to rooting.

use TWRP, its really simple. touch wipe, touch system. swipe to confirm.
