You can but you won't be able to see your unread (swipe to) notifications on the lockscreen.
Edit: Just using the flashable zip won't work, though. The TW app is called SecMms.apk
You'd have to remove or freeze stock TW app and then push my Mms.apk to /system/app/
and then fix permissions.
Now if we could get the touch wiz version of the mms app and emoji support that would be awesome

I've found it more bothersome than its worth trying to add all the emoji to the TW version but you're more than welcome to all of my resources if you'd like to give it a shot.
