Anyone knoe where i can read to learn how to install kernel for this phone?
theres 2 files. one is a tar. flash with odin. or use the cwm file and just flash it in recovery. nothing fancy.
so, put the cwm kernel on your sd card and get into recovery. either on clockworkmod or twrp.both work. once in recovery find the kernel and install. that's it. you now have an awesome kernel my friend!
You can flash the kernel zip (Original post in this thread. File with .zip on the end and Perseus in the name) using TWRP recovery very easy with minimal complication. You will want to read and understand how to use it but it is as simple as this:
Make sure you have the kernel zip on your SDcard. Boot into recovery. Press install, browse to your kernel zip on the sdcard, select it. It should complete the install. Done. reboot. Verify the kernel installed in settings > about. You are now using the new kernel.
I've tried installing this kernel 3 times using twrp and it says successful install bit when I check it in about phone,It's not there. When I open up setcpu it's still at 1600......no option to overclock higher. What am I doin wrong? Please help! Thanks to all that reply.
