So let's say you rooted your HOX, but you kinda liked the Beats audio processing sound on your stock phone. There are APKs and Zips out there that let you get the files you need, but none of them really prove that they work, and some of them get your phone so messed up that you have to reload your rom. Yeah, I've installed them all. I've figured out the best settings in DSP Manager to give you that Beats Audio sound, if you're into it.

To begin, let me say I'm a headphone guy. I have over 50 pairs, ranging from crappy Senns to great Senns, to ridiculously expensive Grados and Ultrasones, and one I dare not mention because it cost more than my life. You know about a headphone? I probably have it. But that's for another forum. The point I'm trying to make is that I'm really into sound. And I wouldn't post a thread saying that I can reproduce the Beats Audio sound with DSP Manager's EQ settings alone if I didn't believe it.

I also have both the stock AT&T with Beats on (2.20) and a rooted HOX. So that means hours on hours of real side-by-side comparisons. Nothing from memory.

For this experiment, I used a pair of Etymotic HF5s with custom molds. No, these aren't the best headphones I have, but they do provide the biggest difference in sound from turning Beats on and off (to my ears). So I thought they were good for trying to recreate the sound on my rooted phone without Beats installed.

Instead of walking you through the settings, I've posted photos of them. Other than the EQ settings themselves, these need to happen:
Headset only - I didn't do this for speaker or bluetooth
Bass boost enabled - slight
EQ enabled - image attached
Loudness compensation disabled
Headset virtual room effect disabled

There you go. Over time, I will probably tweak the EQ slightly as I see fit, but I think it's close to spot on right now. So there it is, Beats audio sound with no beats installed. But you need a rooted phone with DSP manager.

Thanks and let me know what you think.

If it's the same for the international hox you can leave it here, it's just settings that you changed ? But I was a bit confused because i only see you speaking about the AT&T version

If its universal, it can stay here. Otherwise I could move it to the OneXL forum for you.

I reposted it there but can't figure out how to delete this post.

also, if the international version has beats, then yes, this is universal.

Your 2nd thread is now gone. Sadly I don't think this would constitute development. Whilst a very helpful bit of info, I just don't think it makes it there.
