Default Re: [KERNEL] [Feb21] ElementalX-5.0 | OC | UV | ROW | ZRAM | S2W

I have been running elementalx kernels for a while now with no real issues. After updating from 4.4b to 5.0 I got bit by the lag bug. Exactly what others have reported. Browsing comes to a crawl, phone gets real stupid and laggy when trying to do anything at all. Reflashed elementalx 5.0 wiped dalvik and cache in recovery after it completed and all is well again.

Thanks again flar!

I Just switched to fiops this morning absolutely no lagg this whole day with flashing and still @ 64%. I don't think my phone likes row. It seems my battery drains faster.

Feedback time: flar2 is spot on (yes of course he is).

My rebooting issues disappeared when I disabled the setting "apply on boot" in kernel tuner. Now all settings in venom tweaks have stuck & my phone's happy

Basically, I dare say that Most if not all people that have instability & reboots is due to kernel tuner & venom tweaks (or other app) conflict.

ViperXL 3.2.3

I've done it also

Does anyone know how much cpu this phone can handle and stay stable to use on a daily bassist? Because I came from a phone with a single core processor and I had it oc to 1.7ghz and I feel like this dual core could do so much more but I'm scared to find out...

DONATE TO ME
There is now an experimental branch where I will be testing new features. Links to open betas will be posted in the OP.

This is not for most people. Please stick to the stable release unless you know what you're getting into. Just because it sounds like it has cool features doesn't mean you should use it. Don't use the betas if you want stability because they might not be stable.

Please don't report problems with betas unless you 1) are an advanced user, 2) are sure it's a problem with the kernel and not something else, and 3) provide details and documentation (dmesg, /proc/last_kmsg, etc). Don't just download the beta and post here that it crashes.

5.0.4 beta has many changes:
-dual zram
-use zcache instead of qcache
-use zsmalloc instead of zxmalloc
-CPU1 governor can be set independently
-set max screen off frequency
-choose 192 or 384 minimum CPU frequency
-autogroup by current user UID instead of task id
-update cpupower according to cpu load

(the few people who downloaded it before this post should redownload it)

Does s2w take battery?

With it on yesterday I got about 5 hours of suspend_backoff wake lock, today with it disabled I don't have this.

Something else completely or is this related?

Cheers

Already was. Wasn't the issue here. I think it was the one time I didn't actually wipe dalvik and cache manually and trusted aroma.

I have a Telstra XL with S-Off and I'm using
+25Volt from stock
UC to 1.3GH
No S2W (I'm a battery whore)
No zRam
Then no need for kernal tuner
I couldn't get it to work before i achieved S-Off but I didn't test ddifferent volume levels

Flar, great job here man, running smooth as butter \o/

I don't think sweep2wake uses any noticeable battery. I have it on all the time and can go more than one day on a charge.

The beta is even better, I only lose about 1% every two or three hours during sleep.
