Hi Guys!
Newbie poster here but not new to the scene at all. I have been having difficulties rooting this seemingly "Unrootable" phone which happen to be MT6575 (MT6575_S01 as reported by SPFT v3.1224.01) Here are the specs which are pretty similar to the O+ 8.7 (and I was assuming it would get rooted the same way as I have rooted one the past days but this one unfortunately won't)
From MTK Droidtools:
Hardware : MT6575
Model : O+_8.75_Android
Build number : Oplus_A100ALPS.GB2.MP.V2
Build date UTC : 20121117-112624
Android v : 2.3.6
Baseband v: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V13.P1, 2012/04/27 18:49
Kernel v : 2.6.35.7 (queen@dell-desktop) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 Sat Nov 17 19:25:05 CST 2012
I've tried several rooting solutions ruling out that this one has to be flashed with an "unsecured boot.img" first due to "ro.secure=1" restrictions
I've followed yuweng@xda's tutorials and the subsequent ones that discuss extracting and recovery.img and flashing CWM and V2 version of unsecuredboot.img to no avail.
Whenever I get to the point of "downloading" the boot.img or recovery.img (whichever method) using SPFT v3.1224.01, I press on download, click ok and ignore the warning...Press UP on volume and plug in the usb connector (PC detects it as MTK USB PORT COM5) first stage of downloading goes through then I get this error BROM ERROR:S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL(5054). That's where I'm stuck right now. I'll be attaching the scatter file I extracted through adb shell and command I used is:
cat /proc/mtd
cat /proc/mtd > /sdcard/firmware.info
(BTW when following the instructions posted by yuweng@xda
cat /proc/dumchar_info > /sdcard/firmware.info
I get everything as 0's if that would help sort out the problem.
$ cat /proc/dumchar_info
cat /proc/dumchar_info

Basically i don't know where I'm going wrong and I've been trying for days to get this thing rooted. I want to install optimizers, because it has tiny internal storage that get's complaining when apps are cropping up and even sms messages get tangled up with insufficient space. Likewise want to install battery saving apps and such.
Any help would be surely appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: On another note btw: Whenever I tried extracting my own boot.img (making an unsecured boot.img) i've always been unsuccesfull as When I use android kitchen and follow the exact instructions, I get an error that states Ramdrive folder does not exist and I don't get my unsecured boot.img produced. Just a "zimg" of some sort.
I'm sure I read and produced my stock boot.img from SPFT with the right offsets as stated here by MTKdroidtools and by "cat /proc/mtd"
$ cat /proc/mtd
