Just flash with included kernel from a clean wipe. There are some issues with the new kernels.

I can verify too, I use the 3.17.841.2 stock kernel, if you have S-on then I would fastboot flash boot boot.img

for elementalx, fastboot flash boot boot.img (boot.img in boot folder), then install elementalx from recovery to make the selections you want

Titanium back up says failed to get root. For some reason I lost root. Any ideas?

I went for the first option and now am fully booted up.

This Rom runs smoothly apart from battery drain.

Screen isn't listed in 'what uses the battery'

Yeah we know - they took it out in Jelly Bean.

GSam Battery monitor is what I use to check screen on time.

I find turning auto sync off will improve battery, also turn GPS and WiFi off when not needed, You may already know this
